My first problem today was my inability to get the pdf version to download - being a bit old school I prefer a printed copy and to be able to scribble in the margins.
I decided to plough ahead with the online version, FOI 10 and then made reasonably steady progress. I got stuck in NW corner before realising my answer to 9 was wrong. Once I rectified my mistake, that corner fell in nicely.
I was left with 22d which I eventually got (like Chrise) with confirmation via Google. I too had never heard of this novelist.
Overall, a good mix of clues and in terms of difficulty, mid range I think.
Thanks Crucible and Geeker.

Chrise, if you still looking at parsing 7, then for 'France once cut', think famous cartoon series of books.

I had to do the same. Rather obscure I thought

Thanks for 7, johnnykingsman - that clue didn't work anything like I was expecting!

Can someone parse 21A for me? "Go round collecting hot tubs" (5) I think I have it but can't see how it works.

Morning everyone. We normally do this on a Monday morning but thought we'd do it today so we could join in this forum.
Enjoying this actually although we can't parse all of them but we have done most except for the NW quadrant.
So help on 2,3,4, 9 or 11 would be appreciated. Thanks.

Moresnet, think you asking about 22d rather than 14.
To my knowledge there isn't a novelist called Tregask but you on the right lines - just need a shorter abbreviation for registered.

2 requires some GK for "old orator"

4 definition is "took" in a specific context

9 is "set right" - I can't parse the five letter word inside a four letter one myself

11 is "trendy types"
