From one of the most difficult to an under-an-hour complete ... the crossword editor is having fun with us. Have we seen Karla before? He doesn't seem to match his namesake for guile - but a fun solve.
Very quick solve for me too, but enjoyable. Karla last appeared in the Genius slot in Feb last year, no. 212, but I don’t think has ever set a daily, not under that name anyway.
32 minutes is a Genius record for me. I really enjoyed the format of the clues but because every clue was involved it became too easy to solve. I would suggest mixing up different clue types with the preamble of "some clues are contained..."
