I would guess it's meant to be lynx because of how the y is sounded.

I’d have said IDYLL, for containing a vowel.

Right. It's kind of vague, or guess what I'm thinking. I also thought idyll was a possibility because of the double letter, if the y is misdirection.

mprs, this may be me being thick, or a geographical thing, but can you explain how you think the y in lynx sounds different from the others?

I would vote Useby's idyll (with a nod to PR)

This is peculiar and I should like to know where it comes from.
I don't understand why mathsprof thinks why the Y in LYNX is pronounced differently from the others.
It could be RHYTHM because it has two syllables.
But why HYMNS and not just HYMN? Same for MYTHS.

and i'd like to know how many syllables Orson thinks IDYLL has!
The odd one is clearly LYNX because it's the only one with an appetite :)

Perhaps it's "IDYLL" as without it the following sentence can be concocted in order;

PRAISE the BEAST and other LEGENDS of ROCK....
