T?N?L? W?T? looks like it must be TANGLE WITH for get into a fight, but not sure how Putin fits in.

Any help much appreciated

Also struggling similarly with 1a - Top puller reveals bad loser's vainglorious errection. (5,5) _R_ M_ T_W_ R. Answer seems obvious
but can't sort out the first 3 or 4 words of the clue. Presume last 3 are definition.

I’d say the last four words are the definition (‘bad loser’ referring to the election). Top is trump and tower (one that tows) is puller

I have the letters S?R?W, so the answer seems obvious but I don't understand the reference to No. 10. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I think those metal fastening devices come in various sizes including a No.10.
(It could also be a reference to clue 10 of course, but I don’t have the puzzle)
