Thanks everyone for contributing to an excellent contest. There were 39 entries, of which no fewer than 25 gained at least one vote, including 6 of the prolific paul’s 9 offerings! Thanks also to jimmygtal for your kind comment on the choice of word.
For most of the afternoon, it was an incredibly tight contest with any one of about 6 or 7 equally likely winners. However, gradually class told and a clear winner emerged. In equal 4th place with 5 votes were simplesimon @20, culmer @41 and a pair of typically solid jono offerings @10 & 29. In joint 2nd were dorrien’s clever use of ‘left overs’ (incidentally, one of a number of appearances by Bob, to rival anything Ethel may have produced in the past), and jono (again) @34, with an all too rare appearance of the pink organ!
The clear eventual winner, however, was tyke51 @6 with his gloriously simple but effective hidden word:
