Hi Mikey,

1d - single letter "English" + 3 letter "people" + single letter "time" all inside 3 letter "charity" which is reversed - for definition think of a famous film about GR

There is a film title that fits. It describes an illness.
What is GR?

GR is the abbreviation for this puzzle's theme character.

GR is King George I think and presumably the madness in the film about him refers to that.

I have an answer for 5D but I can't parse it, I have a word meaning "once", but I can't see where the king comes in? (parses as "in a good way" - as in I am ??? this motion + married + queen)

Not sure about 25A but I have a 4 letter government department around the symbol for silver and means "to be foolishly or excessively fond of someone", is that correct?

Hi PM,

5d - "a good way" as in a long distance - put the answer in Google followers by the theme character and you'll get it.

25a - 4 letter "institution" not an obvious meaning fits around the 2 letter "silver" - definition is "respect"

Not sure if 25A is correct or not. The institution I have is the department of the environment?

PS,
Re 25a, the word you have is not quite right. The meaning of institution is in the sense of a refuge or hospice and the definition is a synonym for respect as in ‘pay respect to’

Strangely I've only just noticed the thematic side of 11A. I say strangely because I met him once. My grandfather used to play golf with his no. 10 team mate.
