How/why??

It'sbest to give the title of the puzzle in your heading.

PS - 'Speaker's' shows you it's a sounds like clue - 'discreet', inconspicuous, sounds like Discrete, separate.

You’ve got it in one, Malone, that was the whole point of altering it - a nice neat front page, I wasn’t a Text Processing Supervisor in another life for nothing.
