Two queries:

Lowest point of dinar suffering a run (5) The solution is clearly NADIR but what role does "a run" have in the wordplay?

Foreign Office abandoning overseas rule (5) **I*N Possibly REIGN, but how would that parse?

I suppose "suffering a run" is an anagram indicator.

(fo)REIGN

Foreign = overseas. FO/Foreign Office abandoning = remove that, and you're left with Reign, Rule.

Thanks, bothđź‘Ť.

Yet more sloppy clueing in my opinion.

Suffering serves perfectly well as an anagram indicator, but I am happy to be corrected.

"Overseas" for "foreign" is rather ambiguous. A large part of the British Isles is overseas but can hardly be described as foreign. But perhaps I am being too picky.

12d Delay in appointment for accountant's job. I think the answer is bookkeeping but can't see where delay in appointment comes in?

I have one I couldn’t get - 23d. With just two words “Lean forward” it would seem to be a double def., but what?
