I'm rather surprised to be the first to scream for assistance with this one which is not the gentle stroll through the lower levels of the mind that a chap needs on a bank holiday.

I have filled in quite a lot of it, though with no great air of conviction, & might be able to make more progress if someone could supply the answers to these 2 :

3 D - Monitors shot youngster tailing guard (5, 4, 2)
&
29 D - Catch up, wanting desperately to cover cup game (6, 7)

I'm not adding any of the letters I think i have in these as so to do merely may mislead......

29 Tenpin Bowling. Ten = Net, up(wardsO Pining = wanting desperately, Bowl, cup (?).

3 is Keep, guard, Stab, shot, and Son, youngster.

Thanks as ever. Surprisingly (to me) this means most of my other answers in that area were correct, though I shall have to rethink 29A as what I put in is either twaddle or wishful thinking (or both).
