DM used to write superb puzzles for the ST, but he’s not been so good recently. He still produces excellent puzzles for the FT and Indy, even if the latter are sometimes a bit too laddish for my taste. I haven’t enjoyed the other DM’s ST puzzles as much recently either. Perhaps it’s editorial intervention?

for which I initially put ROAN, which I think is a valid answer. Of course the C in CABINET soon told me I had to find an alternative (SCAG), a word I wasn't familiar with.

I agree that some of these clues are a bit weak. Stuck on 3D
