Answer - Top banana

We just completed this one. We got “top banana” mostly from definition. ...
We get TO then PB (lead) then AN (article) but are (probably stupidly) stumped by ANA
Over to the experts.....

ana ...a collection of reminiscences, sketches, etc, of or about a person or place

"Ana" is a collection of stories - the rest as you've already parsed.
