I am unable to get the theme from the title "Depart Paddington". Should I possibly think bears or trains to the West country? tr think again ? Perhaps Westward Ho!

Depart = Exit
Paddington = Bear

Hope that helps.

To add to Will37's useful hint - think Shakespeare.

I'm certain I have the required work, but I'm struggling with 1 Down "Very large horse nibbled plant" I may have gone wrong with the dramatis personae (AUTOLYCUS), because I appear to need

Y?H?C at 1 Down. Is yhis right?

Turast, the Y is wrong. You need the usual two-letter 'very large', then three letters of a common word/horse (nibbled, it's a four-letter horse).

Thanks Malone. Wrong character. Should have waited before writing them in.

Am I missing something? If not, the longer unclued anagram must be entered randomly, which would be out of character for this level of puzzle.
