I'm not asking for the solution and I didn't see the crossword myself. However, the clue refers to an obscure Argentinian chess grandmaster and curiosity has been expressed on the English Chess Forum as to the identity of the setter. Does anyone know?

Hi Paul, I haven’t seen the crossword but I happen to know that John Halpern (aka Paul of the Guardian) sets for the Sunday Telegraph under the pseudonym Dada. This may not be relevant of course. Is the setter’s pseudonym given?
