Good evening all. By my reckoning, there are 30 clues from 17 setters. With 3 votes still to be cast, any one of the 6 clues that have received a vote are still in the running. Votes from mattrom, kt17 and bigblind are still awaited, but there's plenty of time to go. My fingers remain crossed that I don't have to make the deciding vote!

A funny story about the hasty revision to #32 - I only tried to change my clue to one for 'epidemic' ! Thought to myself how could I get it so wrong...

I'm taking it that your @32 stands. I think others do, too.

With apologies to kt17 and bigblind, I’d like to wrap it up now.

I thought it was a great competition, so thanks to all for taking part. It was a pleasure to read through the entries and there wasn’t a dud amongst them.

There were 30 clues from 17 setters. The final position is that Paul@4 and Dorrien@2 each had one vote; aristo@12 and faiton@25 each had 2 votes; the runner-up with 4 votes was bigbad@32; and the winner with 5 votes is tyke51@24 with his silky-smooth, topical, &lit-ish acrostic:
