Chris, I agree! I started setting ‘whole puzzles’ a while back (just for fun) but have since enjoyed the individual clue writing challenges to be found here (3 times a week), on cccwc (once a month) and those in various broadsheets. This is a great place to hone one’s skills and compare clueing techniques/approaches with a talented group of other clue writers :-)

I'm impressed. I have tried once or twice to set a full puzzle, but the grid-filling was daunting (though that was before electronic aids had emerged).
