Another old one from my clear-out:

14A Voters potentially have online reader worried

I can't work out how "ate" is arrived at for the last three letters of the answer. Must be something to do with "worried" but I can't work out what.

Informally, if something is 'eating' or 'eating at' you then it's worrying you.
Chambers dictionary has this -

Eat
6. To upset, irritate or worry (informal).
