1. 'Disadvantage' is the definition. I have a two-letter greeting, with a three three-letter 'with' inside, followed by a 'curb on spending'.

It looks like you've got the right letters but you have the two clues reversed (apart from your L - I think that across answer is 4 letters and involves 'withdrawing objections').
