Help with two please. More interested in how you parsed it rather than the answer...
A) Wife battered in front of the kids? *U*Y
B) The Scots speak indistinctly, low and soft. *O*P

A) JUDY - a "plotline" in a Punch and Judy show (performed in front of kids) is Punch hitting Judy

moop? i can;t get to the dictionary - trapped under a cat - but the parsing would be moo = low, as cows do, and p is soft in music

It can be spelt as moop or moup. Scottish for mumble.
