Yoohoo, dorrien. See entry 2, 3b.

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/salt

Or Chambers: to add gold, ore, etc. to in order to give a false appearance of riches.

Congrats jafo - obviously I thought "sparingly" worked!
Thanks mattrom. There are lots of "salt roads" in England. We live on Salterforth Road - once one of them.
Thanks for the vote jafo, and the mentions paul, FJ, and BBM2 (4?). I actually thought my entry at 23 was better, though!

Anyway many thanks to chrise, faiton, paul and jws for the votes, Also to fieryjack for the mention and even to grumpy dorrien,

And of course to mattrom for setting. Nice video, we forget how salt was once the way of means.

Looking forward to the WPR. Gloves off now and time to up the game a bit.

Hi jafo, If you put "Peer Review" or "Clueless" in the search engine, it will bring up the lists of previously used words. You can cut and paste the preamble, or add your own tweaks. The extended voting time is to accommodate participants from other countries. Looking forward to next week.
