Thank you for 'smoulders' for 38d. I had 'ostler' for 37a which I had been completely convinced by but now see it should be 'ouster'.

Haven't done this one yet:
8a Lip ring ensemble with no strings attached (5,4).
Brass band.
Ring = band but can lip = brass?

22d I also have got stuck parsing this. However there is ID NILES backwards in the middle - I had Blue and White flowers - but I've not yet got beyond this!
