Ahh yes, thanks! Also pluralised. It’s been a while since A-Level biology.

I'm finding this remarkably difficult for an Everyman. The SE is nearly empty. Could I have a hint on 16d, please? I have the first 4 letters, but nothing for the last 4 seems to fit with either the wordplay or the part of speech of the definition.

I may be back for more - I'm stuck on 8d too!

I’ve finished but have no idea of the parsing of 18A which surely has to be an old prime minister?

I think there's an anagram there. It's one of Everyman's "extended definition" clues - I don't like them, as "condemned" isn't part of the definition.
Yes, PM in the 18th century. His son (guess what he was called!) was more successful.

Four to get and also finding it very tricky but not going to give up. Makes a change to have to go away and come back to it. On the C19 comments noting that countries tackling C19 better have certain types of leaders.

Hi Cymro and Chris's
Yep, 18ac is an anagram of first two words and HT (leaders of ...). Really didn't like this week's offering. I thought it had all the annoying traits of when this setter started last year. The likes of 22ac especially bug me. Okay, the definition is fun, but surely we could have something a bit less vague than '1995 film'?
