Seemed like an easy one today but a couple of queries.

24ac Mean rowing coach (5) T-G-T

Must be TIGHT (mean) but don’t get the rowing coach part.

8ac Narrow could be more fittin (5). T-P-R

Must be TAPER (narrow) which is an anagram of APTER (more fitting) but the lack of the G in the “fittin” in the clue is throwing me. It kinda suggests a missing/dropped letter in the answer.

Just a typo?

Just a thought on 24. Rowers could be an EIGHT. I can't see why the E would be changed to T, though.

Sorry, Tim. I didn't read your post closely enough. I agree it must be a typo with 8A.

I think Tim had seen the "apter" anagram - he was querying the missing G in "fittin".

Fungus was a Bogeyman. I don't see how that helps, though!

Pianist I think was Natalie Carp

Still can't resolve TIGHT

I think I've just had a flash of inspiration!

Tight = drunk = "one over the eight" with eight, as Chris pointed being a rowing crew. One over them could be the "rowing coach".
