Like Chrise I think this must have been easy as I've finished without recourse to the Forum. 11ac and 14ac were my FOIs. Jono you haven't read enough Georgette Heyer in your youth like I did. Three words I didn't know 13d, 16ac and 25ac. I had to look up 25ac. My favourite (is that what COD means) was definitely 19d.

A couple I couldn't parse including 20ac as I knew neither the Poe character, although I read a lot of him in my youth, nor the word for a short story; and 8d - I got the sea but not the rest of the wordplay. But I have an answer.

It just goes to show how advantageous it can be to be on the setter's 'wavelength' - both you and Chris found it easy but, after 5 minutes, I'd still to enter a single answer!

8d - 3 letter synonym for "perhaps" around 1 letter representation of "round" and 3 letter "sea".

PS May I ask what the acronym in your post means?

Move first letter to the last in the four letter synonym for manage. This gives the abbreviation.
