Hello. In these time of lockdown I have been doing crosswords from a book. The answers are in the back but they don't explain them. I recently got stuck with two. here they are, can anybody help!
Clue: Become dejected listening to Olive, say (5). Answer: Droop.
Next. Clue: Thwarted, being in a place without parking (6). Answer: Spited.

Sited - being in a place
P - parking
without = it goes inside.

The first one is a homophone - "droop" sounds like "drupe" (an olive is a drupe)

Being in place = Sited around/without P(arking)
