I have c-l-i-r. Looks like collier, but why?

28d Blackhead - with new sense of disappointment (8)
I have -o-e-o-n. Comedown fits the latter, but what about the rest?

50. The 'minOr' should be 'miner'.
Cr = abbreviation for Councillor
Hardy = Ollie (of Laurel and Hardy)
Eclipse - contains, covers. so C Ollie r.

I've just checked Chambers - Blackhead can mean '...a comedo'! You then add W, with and N, new.

...and Comedo is just ' a blackhead, a black tipped white mass often found in the blocked skin pores'.
