Thanks to all for taking part. I didn’t quite get the numbers I was hoping for (was the word too challenging?), but the quality made up for quantity. It was also good to see the reappearance of Les, who came back with a corker.

There were so many I could happily have gone for but I whittled down my favourites to Les@21, the ever-reliable mattrom@13 and ginge@26 (which took a bit of working out, but was worth it).

My absolute favourite, though was Paul@16 with:
“Playing soccer, Tim loses rag initially and gets lippy”

Anagrams are not usually my favourite device, but this one reads well and I like the clever misdirection of the definition.

So, well done Paul. The prize is a brief tribute to Derek Fowlds, who sadly passed away last week: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eikb2lX5xYE

Thanks again.

Clever clue, paul. I liked your word, petrm: I suspect that the limited turnout is due to a dismal January (at least for UK residents). It certainly makes me miserable and lacking in energy!

Congratulations, paul, and thanks, peterm.
I hope les hasn't been pulled through another time warp since yesterday!
