Thanks, syzygy and Sunray. It was lovely to have a Friday treat. I enjoyed this, much more my sort of thing than the last one. Quite a few good clues and the American references were eminently gettable.

Sunray, I find a straight crossword easier than those interlocking circles, squares, whatever - I think I have the wrong kind of brain!

malone- I just love the interlocking hexagons but am not even going to attempt this one. Just as well we're all different!

Thanks sunray and syzygy. This was less wracking on the brain, and one of the few I could finish within a day, and maybe that's more of a meaningful gift to me than the one in the green squares.
