3 down: Loudly cheer " bravo" along with pop stars (3,4) : Answer - boy band

17 down: Monster guitar solo maybe opening gig - not closing number (7) Answer - griffin

Cheer can be "buoy", loudly to hear "boy".
Bravo is "b" in phonetic alphabet, along with is "and".

Guitar solo is a "riff", inside "gi(g)" not closing, with "n" for number.
