Congratulations Aristo
Cheers Sw for hosting and the mentions. Not heard that track for years.

As my less genteel countrymen might say: Woot, woot! Thanks so much, skyewalker et al. Quite the clips (so you still dress like that over there?).

sunray: My permanent residence is in Massachusetts; my summer house is in Maine, so I don't vote here. One of my senators is the screechy Elizabeth Warren, whose DNA test indicates that she might possibly be 1/1200 Native American. I have high cheekbones too, but so do a lot of other people of Swedish descent. :)

I only dress like that at at weekends, Aristo. Seemingly, there was a surprisingly large percentage of people who saw the first clip who didn't realise it was a spoof.

aristo, Congrats again.
I was not trying to point out Sen. Collins' politics.
I thought it was funny that the week we have the word disappointment to be clued, an ad comes out showing her penchant for that word.

Hope weather in Maine is better than Massachusetts.

Oh, and I didn't think you were on a soapbox. I dislike all of them.

Well done Aristo!
Cheers SW for setting and the mention. NB my 12; I was treating “can sooth” as a descriptor (not a noun) to describe “ointment” - I was admittedly a little uncertain between “sooth” and “soothe”
Thanks for the explanations of FJ’s clues. There seems to be a tendency towards more fiendishly cryptic offerings that I may not be able to appreciate....
