Let... Impediment, obstruction (a 'let' in tennis is an obstruction, hindrance).

Great, thanks. Does “sign me up” make sense for the other one?

1. Pick-Me-Up. Me, note, inside Pick Up, contract, catch. Pick-Me-Up, firing agent, something to get you going.

PS My parsing is sometimes quite iffy!

Did you know that "tiramisu" is Italian for "pick me up"?

Actually "pull me up" is closer
tira - pull (imperative)
mi - me
su - up

Sat Times 27,408: Would someone please be kind enough to fully parse the following for me. Thanks in advance.

19 ac: Following punch, after something for leaning on, by George - answer: lamppost

I see the lam for punch and post for following, but this gives me an unexplained p in the middle. I see George Formby reference too.

17ac: Let one quite quietly correct grasping people - answer impediment

I see the initial one (i) and P edi(men)t quietly correct grasping people, but this leaves me with an m over!
