All done but I don't quite understand where it says:

What instruction?

23a Slaver is travelling west to enter Egypt(4) I have ?sit for the grid entry with a B on the left and P on the right ...but can't seem to make a proper word ..............abspit??

23 You're nearly there, Kirky - you just need a vowel to add to your 'sit' and your B and P. Slaver is a verb.

Got it now ... i was thinking slave not spitting!

Malone - I muchly agree - it was IMO an admirable puzzle, beautifully constructed - (despite my refusing the last fence!)

Yes, Kt17, a very well-crafted puzzle. I hadn't finished it when you first posted. I didn't look at the thread until later so that I wouldn't see anything significant! The final stage caught me out for a few minutes, but the title (not of the puzzle) resolved that.
