I would appreciate help fully parsing 10 across: A greeting from abroad, going west. (5) I have a?o?a, so I guess the answer is aloha.

Thanks in advance for any help Roger

I know that I must be thick, I can see that aloha is a greeting from abroad (Hawaii) but why going west? Thanks for any help. Roger

I think you missed the Hola,, greeting (Spanish). It's A Hola, then it goes west, ie reverses, to head wes,t and becomes Aloha,

I don't have the paper any more so can't give the clue, but can anyone confirm that ALARM is parsed as...

A LA (as in 'in the manner of' ) + RM

Just to confirm, "Recalling" = "in the manner of" - it just seems a bit loose or have I got it completely wrong?

PS. Kudos to the setter, some brilliantly devious definitions.

That's what I have, Brendan.
"a la" and "RM" (Royal Marines).
I thought it was a first class puzzle, too, and very well done to our setter!
