Having read aristo's parse@10, can someone tell me why shot=BB?

BB shot is a size of pellet used in shotguns

It should be pointed out that it isn't just the size but the pellet itself (in the US at least), as in "he got shot in the eye with a BB". It used to be every boy's dream to get a BB gun for Christmas, and yes, there were quite a few shot eyes.

All part of my continuing education here: I've never heard of those BB things before, sorry.
