Unusually for me I have managed to finish this but I have a concern about 17 down - River of Germany featured in mini-series (4). The wordplay gives Iser but the river is Isar (and there is also a River Isen). Any comments on this would be appreciated. Do we just accept it as a piece of faulty editing and put Iser rather than Isar?

I didn't check other than in Bradford's - Iser is listed there, under 'rivers'.

Iser is the German name for the river Jezira - that one begins on the border between Poland and the Czech Republic and ends in central Bohemia. The clue is definitely a bit awry!

Thank you for that Malone. I remember hitch-hiking round South Germany and Austria many, many years ago and walking across a bridge over the Isar on the outskirts of Munich. That is what set the alarm bells ringing.

The German river is middle of the two words together

Intil, into, interested in. It's a Scottish (Ian's) word.
