ionacarr - the answer to 'where' in 21ac is - 'In NS' (which is 'where one local' = 'un' is).

orson - I agree 'displaced' is ambiguous. but in this case it's the misprint that gives the word (in clue order).

Hi orson, the displaced letters are those replaced, using your example "Q" and in both cases the 6 letter words appear in clue order though overlapping. The definition in 1a requires a displacement.
20a. What here is a 2 letter word.
10d. &lit
22d. Also requires a displacement.

orson, I should also have added 20a. also provides an extra letter from wordplay.

Like spoffy I gave up once I had the two landmarks.
However I revisited the Andy Lemon link today and the link to the place of captivity - why here?- but can't see any connection. Is 'Andy Lemon' a cryptic representation of the 'renowned setter's' real name?

muraria - I think 'why here' just about works if you follow the clues/narrative in the preamble, get the anagram of ANDY LEMON and find one of his aliases in the grid (it can be represented cryptically by a single letter).

It's all a bit of a stretch but it fits too well to be coincidental (well, I think it does).
