I am probably being very dim here, but why does "pocket" mean "trouser"?
Anne B gives it as such...….although not in reverse?
But I cannot understand it?

Elle. one definition (in Chambers) of 'trouser' is to 'appropriate money, to pocket'.

it is a verb, Elle.
To put something in ones trouser pocket.
"Trouser" can mean to pocket something.

Ah, thank you !
I didn't look in Chambers!
I knew that "pocket" could be a verb -- but had no ide that "trouser" functioned as such !
I have learned something new!
