Ok, 25A: ‘one liked no end to take passage in ship’; I’m thinking Frigate, BUT.. usually ‘no end’ means taking one letter off, not two. Plus, gat only appears in OED as (slang) GUN, or archaic past tense of GET.

Any other suggestions?

Fri(end), one liked. 'No end' = take off the end! Gate = passage.
