Thanks - all done now. I'd initially dismissed my answer to 15 ac (the only Welsh footballer I'd ever heard of) because of the double letters. Only now do I realise the significance of 'broadcast'.

And yes, re 22d, I do feel one!

Did OK, slowed down in bottom LH corner, but inexplicably stuck on 8a and 11a. None too happy with my 5d either.

I'm sure I'm missing something easy, but a nudge would be appreciated.

8 - def is the first word, cold is the tap, in a kind of water, followed by first of December
11 is a metallic band. The conventional crossword equivalent of hen follows the 's. then you have to 3d
5 is an anagram

there isn't a 5d

I just hate that! As soon as one posts a question, the solution comes into one’s mind! Maybe, because one is writing the problem down rather than just thinking about it.Next time I will send a note to myself regarding the problem! Ha!
