sunray, I think you've misread Scarlett's post with the answering of 22 D. The N is definitely the third letter, Your letters for 30 A are fine.

I misunderstood the advice from others. I thought the advice was to add A to Longa, anagram of which is analog.

It took me a while to understand what to do with the extra words. But finally got it.
All seems to be OK. Except I have not found the extra word/s for 30d.

The grid is complete and the preamble gives away the final entry in the bottom row.

The missing word for 30d is "brand" from 34a.

I have 32d as brand.
30d is starch or any of the palms that yield 30d.

Sorry, sunray, I confused 30d with 32d.

And 30d is indeed a starch, although the defn for it here is "cereal" from 17a.

17a has the word as you say.
Now everything is explained.
