Should it be "electorate has spoken"? Is "electorate" singular or plural?

I think `has` is better...the people may `have` spoken

@ aristo; in all the years I can/care to remember there have been quite a few adjectives (probably more nouns) thrown my way and I very much doubt if lovely, with or without a qualifier, was one of them. Hope you're still enjoying the Listeners, "tomorrow's" should be with syzygy, quite a nice puzzle if on the easier side Listener wise.
