21a Matches for Spurs and the Hammers say (5) - TEAMS?

Obviously there ate 2 football teams there, bu,t this is a cryptic crossword, so what else is going on here?

Brendan, I think it's just matches/teams as in putting an outfit together - it's in Chambers. It's a pretty poor clue!

You're right Malone, and as for the 'dances theme'! - I've never heard of more than half of them and would have been lost without a word search engine.
