Hi everyone,

I am having problems in opening last Sunday's cryptic 4810 on
line - I have almost finished it and wanted to add the last two
answers which finally came to me before sending it, but when I try to open it, the following message appears:

"An unexpected error has occurred. We apologise for any
inconvenience"

This has been so for the past couple of days but I waited if the
'error' might get corrected but it has not.

Has anyone the same problem or does it only involve me and my
account? All other puzzles open correctly.

Where do you open it from?
Times Crossword Club page or www.thetimes.co.uk puzzles page.

I used both last weekend and they were fine?

Hello, Pigale!
I do not do this puzzle, but I was able to open it through The Times on-line website.
Tried it just now and it seemed fine.

Hi Bunty and Rusty,

Sorry for delay in replying but I had to go out.

I am trying to open it in my normal way, from The Times
Crossword Club (to which I belong) - Just tried again and same
message is there again.
All other puzzles are fine.

I think I am going to try and get in touch with them - it sounds
like I am the only one with this problem!

Thank you both for time - Will let you know the outcome if
I manage to contact them!

PS - Bunty, they were fine last week-end for me too, and I was
able to send the Saturday on off;
Just two stubborn clues held me up on the Sundays which I have
now found and I wanted to complete the grid and send it - everything
was OK when I last opened it on Tuesday evening.

A mystery and a nuisance!

Well, I finally had to contact the Times club by phone and
a very helpful girl checked various things and guided me to help
her checking certain things from my end too, and it seems that
there has indeed be an 'error' somewhere along the line with
this particular crossword on my account - She is going to
investigate further with the technical department mainly to ensure
it does not happen again, and will let me know the outcome by
mail.
She also sent me a virgin grid for this crossword which I have just
finished filled in again from scratch! (I had already got 91% of the
clues! Good I still have an excellent memory!)
All complete now and ready to submit after a last check for
typing errors tonight.

God only knows what happened there, but all is well that ends well!

I have been having problems with the latest Mephisto and now Saturday's Cryptic.
Is it a website problem or account problem?
It seems that the Resume function fails once a puzzle has been attempted, despite opening the grid.

By the way, I have tried with both Internet Explorer and Google Chrome.
