Thanks, chrise ... I get CH and, like you, am not seeing MAT. Can someone oblige?

I don't really think mat is a synonym for floor but think it was cleverly constructed as a down clue.

Given as synonyms in on- line thesaurus plus Chambers under floor: a bottom surface and mat: covering part of the floor.

Ros - yes it’s amszing how time flies! Talia is 6 for one more day but might as well be turning 16 with some of the “attitude”..... lovely girl most of the time though. Hope your hols are fun and your fridge stays working!
