Funny. That's about the only rapper I know. He's a staple of The New Times puzzles. Boring.

Still not clear on the parsing for the following:
5D - "brought"
10D - "symbol of Egypt"

Of course, two minutes later.

I see 10D now.

I've no idea about those, syzygy. I don't think I can even use my usual mental cop-out - 'there must be American references - cultural or otherwise - that I'm missing.

10D:
symbol = A(s)P + IS
bull = APIS

In 5D "brought" seems to equate to ROSE.
I don't see how.
