I agree about hot weather not helping! I am stuck on 15A, 16A and 17D. I have every second letter in each case. 15A Garment around demon, say (7) ?A?E?L?. 16A Just the distance at end of drive (7) ?A?R?A? 17D German isle's empire (7) ?T?O?O? I accept some of my letters might be wrong but they appear to fit in elsewhere. Help please.

15 Your 'e' is wrong. The garment isn't needed in the present weather. The 'around' is common crossword stuff, followed by some 'sounds like' stuff.

17 D. Your second O is wrong. The definition is 'empire' . The 'isle' isn't German, each of these words gives part of the answer.
