Thank you Mamya. I had plover for that one and was really stuck on 88A, Nocturnal bird of prey (3) ?V?. All clear now though, and nearly finished.

Is it Punwee, Mamya?

46 (g) now I think I see where I have got muddled, for that I put HOBBY as she does like to collect dubious specimens as a pastime. I will break out the tippex and start over. This is one devious puzzle, the compiler has a wicked sense of humour.

a) my eldest Niece is sometimes called this by her friends.
b) it rhymes with The Doobie Brothers (but only if you add the word smothers - which i like to do anyway)
