Hi, Seamus,

Just good luck, I suppose. Having said that, it must have taken me about twenty years to become an overnight success. My first T shirt was around 2011 and I have had one or two a year since then. 2017 was just about the last crossword of the year, so I was beginning to despair.

Maybe they take pity on me when the see the Millport postmark.

Best wishes.

I am devastated, no more tee shirts, the main reason to do the Wee Stinker. I have 6 in the drawer and have lost count of how many I have. Even the cats and Mrs Rochester have won.
I have won the voucher a few times but never bothered to do anything with it. I think I will move to Sunday herald Crossword, it's pretty diabolical and a bottle of whisky to win.
Monday is not the same.

I'm a bit puzzled about why anyone with more than a couple wants more.

Mine are all ill-fitting, poor quality and have the same crossword on them. Sure getting the first one or two was exciting but it wasn't long before we decided to save ourselves the cost of postage.

Also, for me some of the attraction of entering disappeared when they started arbitrarily picking one "winner" with an extra prize awarded.

I do feel a bit sorry for those who never acquired one though and think it was a mistake for the Herald to ditch them.

You're right Tim but, latterly, I was only entering to enjoy the reactions (not all congratulatory) provoked when some of my friends saw my name amongst the winners.

I wrote to the Editor of the Herald to voice complaints about the move from Monday and then the removal of the shirts as prizes without any explanation or consideration. So far (and that's about a week), I have not had the courtesy of a reply. I have informed the Editor I will no longer buy the Herald.

I wrote to the editor when the move to Saturday took place. The crosswords editor replied and assured me that as the submission date was still Thursday I could still do the xword on Mondays. I wrote again about the removal of the t-shirts. That email has been ignored. Unfortunately, domestic constraints mean that the Herald still comes into the house!

Miserable gits coupled with many mistakes I too have complained to editor without reply or apology in newspaper
Suggest we all do NOT buy shares in Newsquest
At least I'm saving 65p a week on a stamp
T Shirts would cost about £40 a week What a saving £2K a year !!!
perhaps they're buying a spell checker
