I'm reading a book and listening to "The Dharma at Big Sur" by John Adams. I had heard it on the radio and tried to buy it on Amazon; the cheapest option was £500 as I recall (so I didn't). About 3 months later it was on the free CD with the BBC Music Magazine - result!

No other piece of music divides me from my daughter more - she can't stand to be in hearing distance when I'm playing it.

I've driven along Big Sur when visitng family in California. Is that the same one in the music ? I must try and find the music it and let you know my feelings about it

Apparently the road has fallen down and the only access at the moment is foot or helicopter (which, of course, isn't a problem for most of the residents......)

Yes, floods have almost destroyed the road. It is such a beautiful stretch of coastline, but I have happy memories and plenty of photos

The latest news on 7th August is shown on facebook and the rebuilding of the highway is making good progress.
