Mind you, I can be an idiot at times - once the lecturer is in the right position!

In spite of oblique help and reading these posts I am still completely bemused by this. I think I have identified some extra words but still have no idea what the riddle is and find all the clashes rather irritating. I think gardening in the rain looks appealing again and may just put this puzzle into the 'life's too short' box. good luck to all more persistent solvers.

I'll confess I put Blobby down first before realising my mistake. I'm blaming Noel Edmonds ..... Cockie - funny how we both overlooked something so bleeding obvious - I think you just get into the habit with Sabre of expecting something deep and convoluted. Bathtub was genius though, I mean he could have just put 'tent' or 'abbey'. Happy counting! ;¬)

Planks - the riddle can be found via google if you have most of the words. I'd prefer not to put anything too blatant on here as it'd be a spoiler but I can drop you a hint via email if you'd like. I don't like to envisage gardening in the rain!

Thanks s_pugh, I'll put the wellies aside for the moment. Googling what I have has yielded nothing sensible so a more overt 'nudge' would be appreciated to mesnilpat@gmail.com

22d appears to have two surplus words in it or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Not wanting to spill the beans, can anyone confirm that the "right choice for an ambiguous entry" involves a letter later rather than earlier in the Alphabet. I do hope so, because if not I'll have to go through the whole blinking lot again.....

No surplus words there at all, defn is last. Correction of ambiguous entries earlier rather than later.

Sorry Aspria if you mean the down clue alluded to earlier then yes the right choice is the one later in the alphabet, or possibly right at the end of alphabet if you get my drift ...
