With 2 votes left to be cast, Paul@11, Rossim @12 and SteveA@18 all have 2 votes each. With 1 vote apiece are Mattrom @17 and SteveA, again, @2, so anyone can win (including setters with no votes so far, if the last 2 votes put them in the running).

Thanks, Tatters, for making my job so much easier....not :-)
With all votes in, there is now a 4-way tie amongst Paul, Rossim, Mattrom and SteveA. I'm going to watch Masterchef, have a couple of beers then peruse again the relevant clues. Be back with you later.

That was a struggle, as I liked all 4 leading clues. Am going for (excuse the lack of accents) Paul's #11:

Clumsy Rene can't seduce

The prize that Tatters recently awarded featured Amy Macdonald, a girl from the town of Bishopbriggs, which is where, from the age of 4, I grew up and eventually spent the first six-and-a-half years of my married life before moving to a village 2 or 3 miles away. My oldest friend's son was at school with Amy. It got me thinking about other previous denizens of the town.

Our current Dr Who, Peter Capaldi, lived there in his youth. Jack Bruce, late bassist with the legendary Cream was a resident. (My dad worked beside his dad in the Scottish Daily Express newspaper offices).

A few years ago I bumped into an old friend I'd been in a band with in our teens. He remembers a wee guy in a sheepskin coat, guitar case under his arm, used to turn up sometimes, looking to play along with us, (I have absolutely no recollection of this), and this is the front man of the band featured in your prize. (He was definitely also from Bishopbriggs, so it might be true). A curtailed version of an old classic:

Thanks again, everyone, for your contributions.

Regards, SW
